We LOVE dogs, more than people!Dogs are awesome and make life better. Dogs have always been part of our family and all Team Fido members are dog lovers. Like most dog lovers, we have spent thousands of dollars on our pets, on just toys alone but even more costly are the many dog beds we have purchased over the years. With four dogs, we found ourselves purchasing a new dog bed every month. We’ve tried everything from the least expensive simple bed to the most expensive "indestructible" bed and we’ve learned that there will always be THAT dog that will eat or destroy ANY bed. So, we decided enough is enough, we have got to solve this dog bed dilemma, and that’s how Luv Fido began.
We asked ourselves; if no dog bed is indestructible then what can we do to make the beds last longer, or at least parts of the bed last longer? How do we prevent the need to plan your day or night around having to wash the cover to your dog’s bed so they have a comfy place to sleep? How do you protect parts of the bed so one "accident" your pup has doesn’t result in having to throw the bed away? The answers to these questions would become our foundation. Those conversations would lead to other questions about how to make our lives easier, save some money, and bring joy to our pups, because let’s face it, we all know that our pups happiness comes first.
Why the name Fido? Honestly, because the names "Rex" and "Max" just didn’t sound right and we wanted a familiar dog name. And then when we looked up the meaning of the name Fido (because that’s why my wife does), we learned that the name comes from a Latin word that means "to trust, believe, and confide in", just like the Marine Corps' Latin motto, "Semper Fidelis” - Always Faithful. That’s when we knew we had the right name. Our pups have always been faithful and we all know you can trust a dog more than you can trust people.

So many times I’ve been told, "you like dogs more than people", and I used to take offense to that but I finally admitted it's true, I absolutely like dogs more than people. Throughout my adult life, I've had 10 canine BFFs, from extra-small to extra-large. I'm a technology geek and work in IT, which I enjoy, but I’ve always had a desire to do something on my own, and for my family, I just didn’t know what that something was. Then, in 2020, while working 100% from home and adding two more dogs to our pack, I saw a need for better options for dog beds and my mind wouldn’t turn off. I found my "something", dogs! My love for dogs, combined with my geekiness and constant desire to improve things, led me to create Luv Fido. My mission is to make dog owners lives easier and bring joy to your pups, by providing simple solutions and quality pup products.
Cooper (Cavapoo)
aka "Cooper-Cat"
A Cavapoo, who thinks he’s a cat, reminds us of an old Englishman, who should be wearing a bow tie and monocle. Cooper is fast and loves to play ball. He never whines or complains, unless it’s time for a walk. He loves snuggling into a cozy spot and is our fist level tester for our beds.
Dexter (Cockapoo)
aka "Littles"
A mini Cockapoo with a BIG personality! Dexter loves to be chased but hates to share. He is very suspicious of anything that makes weird noises or looks dangerous, like a box or grocery bag. He loves digging into his comfy spot and is our second level tester for our beds.
Harvey (Cavachon)
aka "Big-H"
A Cavachon, and a talkative one with very dexterous paws, especially when it comes to asking for some good ole puppy rubs. Harvey LOVES his beds and can sleep for hours if it’s the "right" bed, which makes him our third level tester for our beds.
Rocky (Sheepadoodle)
aka "Doodle-Bear"
A Sheepadoodle who is VERY energetic and loves his toys. Rocky is convinced zippers are bad and feels the need to eliminate them from existence. He also has a bit of a problem controlling his excitement which causes him to "leak" a little. Oh, and of course he is insecure and has a bit of separation anxiety, so when left alone he will de-stuff most beds. Rocky is our highest level tester for sure.
